School for Counselors

 

The Academy is a component of Mental Health Systems www.mhsinc.org. Mental Health Systems, Inc. established a training and development department in 1999 with the purpose of providing the highest quality and standards of education to MHS professionals and our communities. To date, MHS, Inc. has offered more than 30 highly acclaimed statewide conferences and hundreds of trainings, some of which include: Domestic Violence, Ethics, Gender Responsiveness, Older Adult, Co-occurring Disorders and many more. MHS, Inc. has built a reputation for excellence in training and education. We continue the service of providing training with William R. Mead Training Academy (WRM-TA.)   

 

WRM-TA provides training in addiction counseling that meets the state Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (DADP) requirements for certification in drug and alcohol counseling.

 

Our program follows the Tap 21 Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes of Professional Counselors curriculum. Students completing the WRM-TA program will be prepared to apply for the Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC), CAARR (CAS) and other certifications. In addition, WRM-TA is a CAADAC, CAADE, BHS, APA, Breining Institute and CAARR Continued Education (CE) Provider. WRM-TA is ideal for anyone in the helping profession seeking additional skills needed enhance their careers or to become certified in addiction counseling.
